I hve a fundamentals first approach to teaching music. I believe that basic note reading and comprehension is of utmost importance because it establishes the foundational literacy needed to learn complex pieces independently and communicate with other musicians. Written music notes provide a universal language that makes playing in bands, orchestras, or ensembles and collaborating with other musicians much easier. I do believe also in ear training, but that will come secondary in my approach for absolute beginners
